SHOPPING - In the centre of Bristol is Broadmead, Bristol's main shopping centre, and The Mall Bristol, both of which boast an enticing range of shops with all the familiar high street names and specialist independent stores.
Cabot Circus, Bristol's new £500m retail and leisure development, is the latest extension of the Broadmead shopping area, and has helped position Bristol as one of the UK's top shopping destinations.
On the outskirts of Bristol, The Mall at Cribbs Causeway is an ultra-convenient shopping complex with over 135 stores and over 17 cafes and restaurants, all under one roof. Located just off Junction 17 of the M5 with free parking, it's a shopaholic's dream.

ENTERTAINMENT - The Bristol City Museum and Art Gallery houses a collection of natural history, archaeology, local glassware, Chinese ceramics and art. The Bristol Industrial Museum, featuring preserved dock machinery, closed in October 2006 for rebuilding and plans to reopen in 2011 as the Museum of Bristol.
The City Museum also runs three preserved historic houses: the Tudor Red Lodge, the Georgian House, and Blaise Castle House. The Watershed Media Centre and Arnolfini gallery, both in disused dockside warehouses, exhibit contemporary art, photography and cinema, while the city's oldest gallery is at the Royal West of England Academy in Clifton. The graffiti artist Banksy hails from Bristol, which still exhibits many of his works.
